South Austin Brewery announces they will have a new distributor for Austin Texas and surrounding counties. Beginning September 23rd, South Austin Brewery products will be distributed by Ben E. Keith in Travis, Hays and Williamson counties. Ben E. Keith Beverages is one of the largest independent beer wholesalers in the country. They distribute Anheuser-­‐Busch InBev products and many well-­‐known craft and import brands including: Real Ale, Franconia, Alaskan, Brooklyn, Sierra Nevada, Paulaner, Chimay, Spaten, and many more. South Austin Brewery is proud to join the Ben E. Keith family.

Nine gold medals for Texas breweries at Great American Beer Fest

For Texas breweries, this year’s Great American Beer Festival, held annually in Denver, proved to be an event for the record books.

A total of 15 medals were given to breweries and brewpubs in the state yesterday at the festival’s big awards show, the centerpiece of the sudsy three-day affair. Although that’s one less medal than last year, an unprecedentedly high number of the medals were gold — a new record for Texas.

Whole Foods brewpub to get wider exposure

The brewery signed with wholesaler Ben E. Keith Beverages to distribute the beer statewide beginning Sept. 18.
The in-house brewpub at Whole Foods Market’s BLVD Place store is putting its products on the road, adding to the growing number of craft beers available around the region.

Whole Foods Market Brewing Co., a two-man operation that has proved a hit inside the store at 1700 Post Oak Blvd., producing a total of 38 beers since it opened in early November, will release its Post Oak Pale Ale at all 10 Houston-area Whole Foods locations beginning Aug. 8. The stores will kick off sales with a simultaneous tapping at noon.
