DALLAS, JANUARY 28, 2025 — Ben E. Keith is proud to have hosted Congresswoman Julie Johnson as part of her Jobs with Julie initiative, a program designed to connect the Congresswoman with local businesses and gain firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities facing employers and employees across her district. During her visit to our Dallas Distribution Center, Congresswoman Johnson rode and worked with one of our drivers, immersing herself in a major component of what drives our business and supports communities across Texas.
Congresswoman Johnson participated in key aspects of our operations, experiencing firsthand the commitment and efficiency required to keep the supply chain running smoothly. “Joining Ben E. Keith for the afternoon was an excellent opportunity to learn the scale and complexity of their operations while highlighting the incredible efforts of their employees,” said Congresswoman Johnson. “The pride and dedication of their team is profound.”
With fourteen distribution and sales centers in Texas, Ben E. Keith Beverages delivers and merchandises over 40 million cases of products annually. Our drivers and service team members are the backbone of the beverage industry, facilitating more than 600,000 deliveries to over 18,000 Texas accounts each year. From offloading trucks to managing inventory and merchandising, these employees ensure that restaurants, bars, and retailers remain fully stocked with a diverse selection of beverages.
The partnership with Congresswoman Johnson’s Jobs with Julie initiative underscores Ben E. Keith’s commitment to community engagement and workforce development. It is vital for policymakers to engage with local communities and businesses to ensure effective representation and informed policymaking. These interactions offer lawmakers firsthand insight into the unique challenges, priorities, and opportunities within their districts. By actively engaging with our employees and operations, the Congresswoman developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of the critical role our industry plays in driving local economic growth and supporting community development.
“We are honored to facilitate this initiative and proud to showcase the incredible dedication of our team members,” said James Hallam, Chief External Affairs Officer. “It’s through these collaborations that we can ensure our workforce’s needs are recognized and addressed, both at a local and national level.”
