The Downtown Little Rock Partnership is a non-profit whose mission is to accelerate the success of Little Rock’s core, making downtown a vibrant and prosperous community.
Ben E. Keith Foods Mid-South Division partnered with the organization to transform an alley off of Main Street into what they are now calling a "pocket park." While the alley boasts brand new tables, benches, and ambient string lights that give it that backyard feel that everyone enjoys, the main attraction of this hidden gem are the hand-painted murals by ten local artists. The inspiration for these murals lies at the heart of Ben E. Keith's ‘Eat Local. Eat Often.’ customer support campaign. Each artist implemented their take on the meaning of ‘Eat Local. Eat Often.’ The murals were completed just in time for summer visitors to come and enjoy the one-of-a-kind lounge area.
“As downtown Little Rock Partnership, we’re only able to do really cool projects like this because of investment from local businesses and help for the community, so this really was a community project, and we are so grateful for it,” Downtown Little Rock Partnership Director of Communications Ellen Coulter explained.
