The Perfect Storm Approaching

After the holidays, it is typical for customers to slow down as the events are few and the timing is spread out. However, with an early Easter and a late football season, this year may prove to be different. February will see a week of 4 major events occurring within the same week. Lucky for you, we’ve been tracking them. Here are a few events to keep in mind as we finish of this winter.

Mardi Gras

Laissez les bons temps rouler! February marks one of the biggest parties of the year, Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras finishes off with Fat Tuesday, landing on an extremely early date this year, February 13th.  Although this festival isn’t heavily celebrated in every area, there will be various customers looking for their favorite Cajun dishes. A good gumbo, crawfish etouffee, or jambalaya could be a nice signature dish to add to your menu to celebrate this event. If you’re having a hard time finding a dish to highlight for Mardi Gras, our Culinary Resource Team is the perfect resource to help you with some ideas.

The Big Game

We are less than a month away from America’s most anticipated sporting event of the year, the Super Bowl, and now is the time to get ready. If you’re a place capable of broadcasting the event, be sure to have plenty of fan favorites for it. Platinum Harvest Wings come precooked, giving you a quality product that will save you time to keep up with orders throughout the game. If you’re not equipped with TVs, consider marketing your favorite dishes for take-out for those hosting watch parties.

Valentines Day

This event is always on the same date, so chances are you’re ready for the biggest date night of the year. Fun, shareable dishes could be a unique way to entice couples to choose to dine at your restaurant. Of course, do not forget dessert. For many, a set menu may be the way to keep up with the increased traffic. Whatever you choose, marketing your restaurant is key for those looking to make a reservation for the evening. If you’re lacking materials, our HOST Business Solutions are a perfect resource to provide you with the tools needed to highlight your menu.

Lent

You thought three events in two days was enough? How about a 40-day event to add to the week? Lent begins the day after Fat Tuesday and the same day as Valentines Day, February 14th. Those that are practicing will be in search of dishes that are acceptable during their practices, Fish Friday being a big part of that. Our Admiral of the Fleet Salmon is a clean fish that customers will love during this time.

As you have gathered by now, the perfect storm awaits for us in only a few short weeks. Getting your orders ready now will ensure you are ready for this roller coaster in February. For more ideas on being prepared for any season, contact your Ben E. Keith sales representative.
