Job Description:
Position Summary and Responsibilities:
In general, the basic responsibilities of a Truck Driver are to deliver and pickup products and materials sold and purchased. The product will be trucked and handled in such a manner that it arrives in good condition. Deliveries and pickups are to be verified against computer generated documents. It is also the responsibility of the truck driver to be safe and courteous. He or She should be familiar with U.S. Department of Transportation rules and regulations governing safe trucking procedures. Remember that customers see through their association with their salesman and Truck Driver. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to practice good hygiene, courteous manners, and always be clean-cut and presentable. "Customers provide our paychecks." It is equally important that your vehicle's appearance be very clean and presentable. These small details have a big impact on the image of our company.
•Complete walk around inspection of truck before beginning route and at completion of route.
•Properly complete route sheet for every route.
•Responsible for insuring that the truck, hand trucks, and other related delivery equipment are maintained and kept in good working condition. Take corrective action as instructed.
•Deliver product in good condition to our customers. If there is a shortage, change, or returned order, always document it in detail and call in to Inventory Control Clerk.
•Double check all orders to make sure the delivery is correct!
•Collect payments where necessary. Check and balance all collections after each route and promptly turn them over to the office.
•If a problem arises between you and the customer, report it to your supervisor. Never irritate a customer. Your ultimate responsibility is customer satisfaction. Disregard of this responsibility is grounds for dismissal.
•When called on, deliver odd routes that are not set up on a regular basis.
•Must be willing to work in other departments when the work load in the delivery department is slack.
•Fuel trucks on regular intervals.
•Speeding violations are the responsibility of the driver.
•Your ultimate responsibility is customer satisfaction and company profitability.

•Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. •Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must be able to make change quickly.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Have a pleasing personality and be capable of maintaining good customer relations.
•Must demonstrate a friendly, helpful attitude toward co-workers.
•Must have and maintain a telephone number.
•Must be at least 21 years of age.
•Class "A" Commercial Driver's License Preferred-Preferably a "Motor Vehicle Record" with no major violations in the last 3 years.
•Must pass a pre-employment drug test before job confirmation.
•High school diploma or equivalent required. Some related experience preferred.

•It is of utmost importance to practice good hygiene, courteous manners, and always be clean-cut and presentable (no beards, a clean neatly trimmed beard or mustache is acceptable). Side burns must be neat and clean-cut and should not be longer than the middle of the ear. Must conform to current dress code policy PP, 15.

Driver safety is important to Ben E. Keith. We use dash cameras which leverage artificial intelligence to recognize safe driving, capture safety events and improve driver safety performance. The videos are also used to exonerate drivers in accidents. All drivers sign a driver consent form upon hire to confirm their understanding
