We use malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. So pour a glass, and grab a window seat to watch as the leaves come tumbling down.

Harpoon 100 BBL - Pott's Landbier

This beer, the 32nd in the series, was inspired by our friend Joerg Pott of Pott’s Brauerei in Oelde, Germany. Pott’s master brewer, Peter Wienstroer, collaborated with Harpoon’s Todd Charboneau to brew this beer.

Pott’s Landbier, or “country beer”, is a traditional session lager with a decidedly malty backbone made up of a blend of German and North American malts. The smooth malt character is tempered by the German bittering hop Magnum, which lends a clean, crisp balance. This beer is finished with more German hops for a spicy herbal palate and aroma. Fermented with Pott’s proprietary lager yeast – and imbued with over 240 years of German brewing tradition – this is just the beer to quench your summer thirst.

Deschutes Hop in the Dark C.D.A.

What is C.D.A. you ask? Cascadian Dark Ale is a style that emerged on the NW Coast of North America in the early 21st Century. NW hops are prominent, balanced with malt, roast malts give color and flavor, but body should be reminiscent of an IPA, not heavy like a porter or stout. The style is not only gaining traction w/ brewers in the Pacifice Northwest, but is starting to spread to other regions. In this specific brew you will find aromas of Cascade, Amarillo, and Centennial hops float over a gentle undercurrent of subtle malt complexities.

Avery Seventeen

After years of commemorating our anniversary with deliciously wild and weird ales, we decided to mix it up a bit and create our first Anniversary lager. SEVENTEEN is a celebration and study of the aromas and flavors of German hops. And knowing our fetish for those beautiful green cones, you can be confident that the contents of this bottle are well hopped for your olfactory pleasure. Many thanks to all and we hope you enjoy our lupulin dissertation!

Belhaven Scottish Lager

Pale but interesting, Belhaven’s Scottish Lager is light, crisp and sweet – just perfect thirst quenching fare. We could go all fancy and start chatting about its citrus notes and malty palates but bottom line is it’s a great pint – a top class lager.

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace

Every two months Brewmaster Garrett Oliver and company turn out a new and inventive beer. We call these draft-only releases our Brewmaster’s Reserve. The latest batch goes by the name of Sorachi Ace. Here’s what Garrett has to say about it: Most Brooklyn beers are made with a blend of hop varietals. As a chef does with spices, we look to get the best qualities of each hop and create a harmony of flavors and aromas. However, a few years ago, we ran into a hop unique enough to deserve its own moment in the sun.

Redhook Big Ballard Imperial IPA

In 1982 Redhook was born in a converted transmission shop in the Ballard District outside of Seattle, WA. After 28 years of brewing, Redhook is paying homage to it’s roots by releasing Big Ballard Imperial IPA. Big Ballard has a rich, deep golden and a very assertive hop character that hits you in the nose before reaching your lips. The flavor and aroma are balanced with complex malty undertones. While it has a friendly side, make no mistake – Big Ballard is brewed for diehard IPA fans.

Big Ballard pairs well with sausage, cured meats with ground mustard, spicy Mexican or Asian dishes, and barbeque .

Available in the Western US year round in both 22 ounce bottles and on draught.

Dogfish Head Squall IPA

An unfiltered, 100% bottle-conditioned, super-pungent imperial I.P.A. clocking in at 9% ABV and dry-hopped with Palisade, Amarillo, Simcoe, Cascade, CTZ, and Willamette hops.

As many of you know, Dogfish Head is named after a “head” of land off of Boothbay Harbor, Maine where company founder Sam Calagione grew up. A few years ago we discovered and fell in love with a Portland, Maine company called Rogues Gallery that makes beautiful, unique clothing. Their rustic, quality-centric creative approach mirrors our off-centered obsession with inspired brewing. As Time Magazine put it Rogues Gallery is all about “Masculine-style with a nostalgic eastern seaboard feel”. Alex Carleton and the crew at Rogue’s Gallery were down with getting their chocolate in Dogfish Head’s peanut butter. We agreed to do a beer in keeping with their brand and a line of co-branded clothing in keeping with ours. The theme of the clothing line is superlative stuff to wear while drinking beer at a sunset beach bonfire and the clothes will be available by mid-summer 2009. The beer first came out in June of 2009 in a handful of eastern seaboard states, a second 2009 release started shipping to wholesalers in November 2009. A more wide-spread release of Squall IPA is planned for 2010.

Best With: With a bold emphasis on hop bitterness, India pale ales are the ultimate beverage pairing for spicy dishes. The sharp hop presence in most India pale ales can stand up to even the most devilish of spices in Cajun, Malaysian, Japanese, Indian, and Mexican cuisine.

Moretti La Rossa

Birra Moretti La Rossa is a double malt beer produced using 100% high quality barley malt. This gives it a full, caramelised malt flavour and an intense aroma of roasted malt.

Its distinctive amber colour originates from the type of malt used when brewing, a special malt which is dried and roasted.

Another basic ingredient of this beer is hops. The hops used is a particularly aromatic variety which gives it a uniquely bitter aftertaste and a delicate fragrance. Master brewers suggest drinking this beer with a serving temperature of between 10° and 12° C.

Best With: Fish starters, both warm and smoked, pasta dishes featuring crustaceans, cheeses or tomato-based sauces, main courses of fish with tomato-based sauces, red meat and simple desserts.

Redhook 8-4-1- Expedition

Redhook Ale Brewery has unveiled its latest limited release, handcrafted beer. Called 8-4-1 Expedition Ale, the American-Style Strong Brown Ale was developed by eight Redhook brewers working in four teams of two to create one beer. The ale reflects a compilation of each team’s individual recipes that were then carefully blended into one distinct beer. 8-4-1 is available for a limited time in 22 ounce bottles at select grocery stores and on draught nationwide.

8-4-1 Expedition Ale is a great beer. Its combination of brown sugar and honey, paired with a variety of rich specialty and smoked malts before being aged for months with oak chips, give it a depth worth sipping next to the fire. Inspired by eight brewers working in four teams, 8-4-1 offers complex nuances to the traditional American-Style Strong Brown Ale that I am confident beer connoisseurs will appreciate.

The Ale offers complex flavor notes, delivering malty sweetness and medium bitterness with hints of smoked flavors and oak chips balanced by the addition of honey, brown sugar and candi sugar.

Widmer Prickly Pear Braggot

Our braggot is a strong ale brewed with a blend of honey, red prickly pear juice, and a variety of pale malts. The addition of Alchemy hops help balance the sweetness while still retaining the natural honey aromas and flavors. The prickly pear juice adds a unique hue to the beer as well as a subtle herbal, quenching-like quality in the finish.

Each bottle of Ultra Dragon Fruit Peach is 95 calories and 4% ABV, on par with other fruit-flavored offerings in the Ultra family. Hudepohl-Schoenling Brewing Co. is the last of the great Cincinnati breweries. Unlike the dozens of hometown breweries that faltered during Prohibition, Hudepohl, which was founded in 1885, persevered. Schoenling Brewing Co. was created in 1933. The two breweries merged in 1986, and in 1999 the company was sold to Snyder International Brewing Group. The old Schoenling bottling plant was sold to Sam Adams-Boston Beer Co., which now bottles Hudepohl-Schoenling brands.

Breckenridge Sampler

A great package to sample this Colorado brewery at any holiday gathering. Perfect selection to appeal to any crowd with different brews to appeal to any and all palates.

Oskar Blues Gubna Imperial IPA

Emphasizing that complexity of character can arise from simple elements, this ale is made with three malts and one hop. Its light amber color and slightly spicy malt character are derived from the use of German Dark Munich Malt and Rye Malt respectively. North American 2-row barley combines with the other grains to lay the foundation for the hop onslaught to come. Summit hops are used exclusively in the boil for bitterness, flavor and aroma but it doesn’t end there. Post-fermentation dry hopping allows the 9.5% ABV monstrosity to gently coax the citrus rind and grapefruit aroma to join the 100 IBUs already present. This beer should greet you with a pungent citrus blast, provide a spicy yet round middle and finish with a brisk, clean bitterness.

Lindeman's Faro

A version of Belgium’s “wild-fermented” wheat beer, which is the result of blending Lambic of “one summer” with old Lambic and chaptalized with candy sugar.

Faro is an intriguing balance of wineyness and sweetness. This was probably the beer being served in Breugel’s paintings of Flemish Village Life.

Faro is a delicious accompaniment of a whole assortment of desserts.

Serve cold at 2-3 degrees Celsius.

Widmer Deadlift Imperial IPA

Deadlift Imperial IPA is unlike any Imperial IPA you’ve ever lifted from the beer aisle. It has the strong hop flavor you’d expect from an Imperial IPA but no heaviness that could weigh down your desire to take another sip. The unique flavor stems in part from Nelson Sauvin hops imported from New Zealand. Deadlift’s other component, a simple but fully braced malt backbone muscles up enough malty sweetness and caramel character to spot the incredibly robust hop flavor and aroma.

ABV 9.5%

New Belgium Ranger IPA

So, here it finally is – New Belgium’s foray into the true American India Pale Ales. Bring out the hops! This clear amber beauty bursts at the starting gate with an abundance of hops: Cascade (citrus), Chinook (floral/citrus), and Simcoe (fruity) lead off the beer, with Cascade added again for an intense dry hop flavor. Brewed with pale and dark caramel malts that harmonize the hop flavor from start to finish, Ranger is a sessionable splendor for all you hopinistas. Thank your Beer Ranger!

Full Sail Wassail

A few unmistakable signs tell us when winter has arrived here in Hood River. The waterfalls in the Gorge start kicking out the jams. The snow report for the backcountry regains its hold over us. And the Wassail starts flowing once again. We’ve brewed Wassail every holiday season since 1988, and it’s now as much a part of the festivities as sharing a roaring fire with our closest family and friends. A deep mahogany color, Wassail is brewed with four different malts and a blend of Pacific Northwest hops, giving it a malty full body and a pleasantly hoppy finish that appeals to both hop and malt lovers alike. In other words, a Christmas miracle.

ABV 7%

Real Ale Devil's Backbone

Named for the scenic ridge that runs between Blanco and Wimberley, Devil’s Backbone is a Belgian-style tripel.

Czech Saaz hops and Belgian yeast give this ale its distinctive flavor and aroma. Candy sugar made in-house at the brewery adds strength without increasing heaviness. The result is a deceptively strong, pale golden ale.

ABV 8.1%

Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout

Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a new addition to the Yeti clan. A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official, you can now have Yeti with breakfast.

Magic Hat Vinyl

Vinyl Lager is an Amber Lager with a rich sweet malt taste and slight balancing hop touch. This beer is produced using a lager strain of yeast fermented at the low end of ale fermentation temperatures, allowing the beer to maintain its easy drinking lager-like characteristics.

Castle Eggenberg Samichlaus

Samichlaus Bier is only brewed once a year on December 6, and is aged for ten months before bottling. Samichlaus is one of the rarest beer specialties in the world and with 14% alcohol by volume, it is the strongest of its kind. Samichlaus may be aged in the bottle for many years to come, as older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish.

ABV 14%

Left Hand FadeTo Black

Fade to Black ties into that time of year when we fall backwards an hour, this year from November 1st until March 14th. Creatively brewed to pair with shorter, darker days, Fade to Black is a Foreign Stout that pours black with notes of licorice, espresso beans, molasses, and black cardamom notes. Its 8.5% ABV gives way to a feeling of self loathing, burnt opportunities and smoked relationships. And like “some late visitor entreating entrance at your chamber door”, six different malts and two different hop varieties create the “darkness there, and nothing more.”

Deschutes Red Chair Northwest Pale Ale

Red Chair NWPA is named after the oldest operating lift at Mt. Bachelor here in Central Oregon. And just as the locals line up for that fabled mountain ride, they flock to our Bend brew pub whenever it goes on tap. One thing we’ve learned, “when the brew pub talks, listen.” For the past two decades, the serious beer fanatics down there seldom miss when we’ve hit on something truly special.

Imperial

Cerveza Imperial leaves the nest – at last! As a result of the huge success this all-natural ingredient beer has had in Costa Rica, it now travels all the way to the US, Gran Cayman and Australia with all its “Pura Vida” experience behind it.

The brew masters of Cerveza Imperial finally agreed to share some of their impressive and meticulous brewing abilities outside the borders of Costa Rica. Exercising the same passion they’ve been renowned for since 1924, and after drinking several Imperials, the idea began to make more sense to them.

Why not share with the rest of the world what “Ticos” have loved for over 80 years?

Those of you, who’ve travelled to Costa Rica, know exactly what “Pura Vida” means, and that Imperial is part of it. If you haven’t been able to make it to Costa Rica, try our beer at home and feel the rainforest, culture and heritage of a country that has peace, tranquillity and a great tasting beer to offer.

Harpoon Leviathan Baltic Porter

Leviathan Baltic Porter is a dark, strong beer of considerable complexity. Brewed with a highly alcohol-tolerant strain of lager yeast, it has a smooth, full flavor with dark fruit and licorice notes in the aroma. De-husked roasted malt lends a dark chocolate character without being sharp or harsh. Raw sugar and dark crystal malt give some raisin and molasses notes while East Kent Goldings hops make for a long, earthy finish.

While it’s rich with Czeched-out flavor, its gentle hopping (35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%) make it a luxurious but low-dose (by Oskar Blues standards) refresher.

Oskar Blues Ten FIDY Imperial Stout

Ten FIDY Imperial Stout – This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel and coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. Trumer Pils

Ben E. Keith proudly rolled out Trumer Pils on July 30, 2007 in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area. Trumer Pils is a traditional European Pilsner brewed to the exact standards of the Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley, California. Trumer Brauerei in Salzburg, Austria was stumbled upon by an international brewing team. This 400 year old brewery had such an impact on this group that they set out to find a place to build it’s sister brewery! Trumer Brauerei in Berkeley was then built in 2004. As Trumer Pils brewmasters would say, “If it’s good you import the beer. If it’s great you import the brewery!”

Trumer has a light golden appearance with natural effervescence and tight creamy bubbles that lace the inside of a glass. It has a delicate, spicy nose with a hint of citrus. The taste is balanced: there is no one flavor that is exaggerated. It has a sparkling mouth feel and leaves a signature dry finish.
