Black Sheep

It is almost impossible to believe that The Black Sheep Brewery is only 16 years old. In fact, it was in October 1992 when their beers first made an appearance in pubs in and around the Yorkshire area. The delivery of those first casks of beer all those years ago began a new era for Paul Theakston, whose family has brewed in Masham for six generations.

Black Sheep Ale

Alcohol content: 4.4%

Black Sheep Ale is brewed using traditional and time-honored methods, which lead to a bottled beer of the highest quality. As with all Black Sheep beers, it is brewed in the traditional way and fermented in the unusual Yorkshire Square system to produce a distinctive robust taste.

Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavored premium ale with a rich fruity aroma. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by Black Sheep’s uncompromising long, dry, and bitter finish.

Monty Python's Holy Grail

Alcohol content: 4.7%

Another fine addition to the Black Sheep Brewery range of premium bottled ales, Holy Grail was specially commissioned to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Pythons. It has a distinctive taste with plenty of fruity hops, and is full flavored with a dry and refreshing bitterness.
