To begin meeting and greeting the local market, Magic Hat is partnering with Ben E. Keith Company to bring the best-selling beverage to the Lone Star State. A variety of taprooms will carry the company’s unique line on draft for Austin’s imbibing pleasure. The leading libation in the Magic Hat line, the beverage known as #9, is a very nearly perfect light-to-medium bodied creation. Its nose of malts, fruit, and vanilla finishes dry, while its smooth, malty sweetness is accented by an understated hop bite. Wherever it is sold, #9 quickly becomes a favorite of local beer aficionados.

Craft brews represent one of the fastest growing alcoholic beverage categories in the country. According to Information Resources, Inc. (IRI), sales of craft beers in food stores grew 11% in the first six months of 2008. Magic Hat food store sales grew an impressive 40.1% (IRI) during the same six month period. The brewer?s flagship beer, #9, experienced a 34% (IRI) increase in food store sales from January to May 2008.
